Back to Work, B-day, & Almost 2 Month Old Ivy!

Every end of January, people groan and say "Oh my gosh, February is the worst month of the year!" I turn around and say, "What? Are you serious? February is the BEST month of the year." I then list why I think February is the best month of the year, my b-day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, the day I got engaged and so on and so forth. PLUS...it is a short month. I love February. This February came and went faster than previous ones.

After having 6 weeks to hang out with my cute little baby Ivy, I had to return to work. It went by so quickly. I loved holding her and cuddling with her every minute of those six weeks. I was really nervous and had anxiety to go back to work. Ivy helped me out by only waking up once the night before. My mom came to pick her up from my house and I bawled as I kissed her goodbye for the day. It was like Ivy knew I was leaving her, but I knew she was in good hands. It was strange going back to my work routine. As I came to my cube, I saw that my coworkers had decked it out for my first day. It was so nice of them and made me feel so much better.

Valentine's was very low-key for Jas and I. We just wanted to stay in and hang out with Ives. We ordered Mandarin take-out, played with Ivy and watched "What happened in Vegas." We laughed our heads off (I forgot how funny that movie was).

Ivy has grown up so much in the past month. She is so chubby now and so much more aware.
1. She spits up after she eats every time no matter what.
2. She gets rashes when I eat chocolate (saddest thing ever!)
3. She gets tummy aches and has to kick her feet until the stomach ache passes.
4. She sticks her tongue out at you if you stick yours out at her.
5. She still makes noises like a sheep.
6. She loves to cuddle on your chest.
7. She has strawberry blonde hair & eyebrows.
8. She loves to facetime her daddy at work. When she sees his face and hears his voice, she just stares like a deer in headlights.
9. She has started to smile at us. (I swear it is not when she has gas).
10. Speaking of gas...she toots...LOUD! Jas and I always look at each other like, WAS THAT YOU??
11. She's got the cutest, chubbiest cheeks that I kiss 18,000 times a day.
12. She slept through the night for the first time two nights ago. Most of the time, she only wakes up once at 3:00am to eat.
13. She loves her momma, but her daddy even more!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of her from the last month.

I promise i am wearing shorts in this picture. I had just gotten done working out!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Love this little baby. I had my 26th b-day (yeah, I'm freaking out because I'm closer to 30 than 20.) Anyway, I woke up on my b-day, and Jas had made me a slideshow, set to one of my favorite songs "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. It was a slideshow of all of his favorite pictures of us over the almost 4 years we'd been married and then some of our new family with baby Ivy. I bawled like a baby. It was an amazing b-day because I have the best present...Ivy. Can't imagine life before her.

Ivy Grace is 1 Month Old + Newborn Pics

Time has seriously flown by. My little Ivy Grace Davies is 1 month old already! Here a couple things about Ms. Ivy that I don't want to forget:
  • She loves sucking on her hands, clasping her hands together, or keeping her hands up by her face.
  • She makes cute and hilarious noises. The one she makes the most sounds like a sheep.
  • Her neck is unbelievably strong already. When I burp her, she loves throwing her neck around.
  • She spits up a TON. I change her into an adorable outfit and the next thing I know, she spits up ALL over it.
  • She poops a lot, mostly on me. Projectile poop is a real thing.
  • She gets cuter and chubbier every day.
  • She has blonde hair with a red tint.
  • She looks more like Jas than me, especially when she makes her funny facial expressions. (I'm a little jealous).
  • I love her more and more every day and feel so lucky to be her mom.
My family friend Shannon Garber took her newborn pictures. I love them so much! I can't believe how much Ivy has changed already.

This one is just funny! Like I said, she LOVES her hands in her mouth. Every time we took out the binky, her hands would go right in her mouth.
