Ivy's Blessing Day

Ivy was blessed this past Sunday, March 16th. It was so special to celebrate her with friends and family. Jason did such a great job and I'm so grateful that he was able to give Ivy such an amazing blessing. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day. Thanks to those who took these great pics, you really captured everything I wanted to for this special memory. And....thank you for supporting our new little family!

AND.....to end the blog post, here is Ivy on the left on her blessing day, and me on the right on my blessing day. We do look alike huh? She's not all Jason! Same pouty lips, same cute dress.

Starting to talk!

Ivy Grace is now almost 11 weeks old and starting to talk. While my mother-in-law Myra was watching her today, she was really telling stories. It broke my heart I could see this in real life, but I was grateful to have the video. She's really starting to try to communicate, which I love. I can't believe the things I will do to get her to smile. Love this little munchkin.

Nicknames we have for her:
-Monkey
-Munchkin
-Stinks
-Ives
-Scootchies
-Spamonkin
-Chubbawabbas
-Mis'
-Snugga Snugga

Maybe, Probably, Most Likely Done with the Bachelor

I admit it, I used to love the Bachelor. It would make my horrible Monday's so much better when I knew I had the Bachelor to look forward to that night. Well, after this season I think I finally may be done watching it (yes, that's right Mom, you should be proud).

I've liked it because:
1. It's like an awkward train wreck and you can't look away.
2. I kind of like to believe that people fall in love on the show and it can last (I know, they don't have the best track record).
3. It's like a chick-flick every single week with the sappy music and the falling in love, and the blah blah blah...

Seriously this season was the worst. Juan Pablo acted like an idiot, and was a grade-A delta bravo.

Don't know if I can take it anymore. "Wiillll schooo assept dis roooseeeee Neeekee?" Can't do it.

Okay, let's be honest...I will probably give Bachelor Pad a chance and then peace out if it doesn't catch my attention. (I know, I'm not stickin' to my guns.)

Oh, and why couldn't they pick Renee as the next bachelorette? Single Mom, has good values, dedicated to her family, etc...? Anyway, this rant post is a waste of time, or it would be if these weren't so funny.

The Dreadmill

Right after I had Ivy, I was very anxious to get back to working out. My Mom would watch Ivy as I would go for a walk the first 4 weeks of my maternity leave, but I was anxious to get back into running and going to the gym. I realized very quickly that is it difficult to make it to the gym when you have a baby. I would have to go at night when Jason got home from work. On the days that I work all day and, I want to hang out with Ivy when I get home...not leave her again to go to the gym. So I decided that for my b-day, anyone that wanted to contribute, could put money towards a treadmill for Jas and I.  We searched KSL everyday to find one. 2 weeks ago, we came upon a listing that was located just 5 minutes away. It was the perfect treadmill for us. Jason and I lugged it into the house (having to take the front door off in the process), before deciding that it would fit perfectly in the garage (what a pain!)

Now I sometimes call the treadmill, the dreadmill because I have a really hard time running on it for long periods of time. I get bored, then convince myself that I am more tired that I am. I figured out the way for me to get an awesome workout and not get bored is to trick myself and run intervals. If I only have to look forward to a 1-3 minute increment or period, it goes by really fast.

Here are the ones that I have tried that have me sweating like a beast.

AND...just because I can't write a blog post without pictures of Ivy, here are some.
Ivy's first Sunday attending church. I know it is fuzzy, but this is the only picture I have. She's so grown up.
This is how Ivy watched the Oscars.
We are working on her smiles and baby selfies.
