My name is Emily and I'm addicted to Books...

To be specific, I am addicted to futuristic books, with a killer love story(this is the most important factor), and a kick-A heroine, no not like the drug.  A chick that is the hero.  Seriously, the books that I have been obsessing over lately have all of these in common.  This is the spiral that happens when I'm into a good book.

1. I start reading and can't really do anything else but read the book. I read the book while I exercise, I stay up WAY too late reading this book, I even dream about the book.
2. My nails become non-existant. Because I'm so into this book, I bite all of my nails off. Seriously, until they bleed. Jason always has to slap my hand away.
3. My husband Jason gets to watch a lot more sports. He says, "hey, aren't you really into your book?" I immediately start reading and he turns on the March Madness.
4. As soon as I finish the book, these things happen:
      a. I immediately google to see if the book is being made into a movie or tv series.
      b. I search and download the sequel.
      c. I cry because I'm way too engrossed in the story and the characters and don't want it to be over.
      d. If they are being made into a movie, when the movie comes out, I may or may not photoshop my
face onto the movie poster with the male characters. I know it's terrifying. It just happens.

The Hunger Games

Twilight before I switched to Team Jacob

In case you were wondering, these are the books that I have read in the past couple months that I highly recommend.

1. The Host by Stephanie Meyers-Seriously, if you haven't read this, do it. It is really good. I'm not talking about the "Good Books" we all thought the twilight series were. Years later, we re-read them, and know better. I'm talking about, get past the first 100 pages and you will be fully engrossed in this awesome book. FYI...this movie comes out this weekend. Way too excited.

2. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi-Just read it. I'm starting the second novel in the series "Unravel Me" tonight.
3. Legend by Marie Lu
4. Unearthly Series by Cynthia Hand (By far my fave)
5. Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks-one of the best ones of his I've read so far.

If you have any suggestions of books I should read, let me know. I'm on the prowl for some new ones!

  1. Divergent, and Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I'm sure you've probably read them as I'm late on the band wagon, but I LOVE them! Like a cross between the Giver, and the Hunger Games-ish... It's good.
